President Maithripala Sirisena today defended the coalition Government and called for an end to the power struggle within the coalition.Making the Government policy speech in Parliament, the President also sought an end to the squabbles between the Government and the opposition. Later, in his speech the President briefed Parliament on the achievements of the Government so far. President Sirisena said that the National issue cannot be resolved by the Government alone.He also said that the Government has a lot of challenges before it and all political parties must unite to develop the country.The President also said that the unity Government has been able to strengthen its relationship with the international community since it took office in 2015. The President said the National unity Government was formed to address the post war issues.He said that no matter what is said, the issues faced by the Tamils in the war affected North and East must be addressed. He said the Government will continue to maintain its non-aligned foreign policy and have a good relationship with all countries.
