The PRRD says the system was constructed to better meet B.C. Landfill Gas Management Regulation, established by the province in their on-going effort of reducing greenhouse emissions (i.e. methane) from municipal solid waste landfills.“During commissioning, flaring equipment will be activated as an integral component of the gas management system,” a press release from the PRRD reads. “Options for gas utilization, such as generating power or pipelining either raw or refined landfill gas to a natural utility, are being considered [sic].”Anyone with questions or concerns about the new operation of the facility is encouraged to contact the PRRD at 1 800 670 7773 or email prrd.dc.@prrd.bc.ca.- Advertisement –
