first_imgPremier John Hamm says today’s terrorist acts in London were an act of cowardice that have been felt around the world. “Today, in London, England, an act of cowardice has claimed the lives of dozens of innocent people, with many hundreds more injured,” the premier said in a statement released today, July 7. “On behalf of the people of Nova Scotia, I extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims of these terrorist attacks. “Our historic and family ties to London, the centre of the Commonwealth, bring this assault even closer to home. “I wholeheartedly agree with the statements made by our prime minister and his colleagues in the G-8. In the face of terror, we must show common resolve. Nova Scotia fully supports our federal government and Canada’s allies as they work to bring to justice those behind today’s brutal attacks. We will also continue to co-operate with the federal government and our international partners to ensure the safety of all Canadians, home and abroad. “To show our respect for all of the victims of today’s terrorist attacks, all flags on provincial buildings have been lowered to half-mast.” -30-last_img
